2008 Production - Fiddler on the Roof

About the Story

Fiddler Logo Set in the little impoverished Russian village of Anatevka, the story focuses on a persecuted minority of Jewish people whose survival is as precarious as a "fiddler on the roof". Their traditions are what anchor them and make life bearable. In addition to touching on the problems of oppressed minorities, this is a play with an up-beat message about the importance of beliefs, community, family and love.

A Message from the Director

"Tradition", the title of the opening song of the show, describes our own tradition of 40 years of annual Broadway shows by Ridge Players Inc. This show marked our first decade, now it marks our fourth. I salute the Players' co-operation and dedication in working to present the very best show possible. The next challenge? The half-century mark in 2018.

-Liz Brown.
